Dinosaur-loving movie fans can now enjoy a thrilling adventure created with cutting-edge technology in downtown Oklahoma City.
Several scenes for “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet 2: The Lost Secret,” were filmed at Boiling Point Media’s recently unveiled LED Virtual Production Studio. The family film follows an adventurous teenager as she searches for a baby dinosaur and tries to save her hometown from disaster. Actors were able to immerse themselves in the film’s fantasy world by shooting in the LED studio, which combines live-action shots from the virtual set with pre-produced visual effects in real time.The studio is the first of its kind in the Oklahoma City metro and allows filmmakers to take advantage of some of the global industry’s newest technology. In addition to the virtual production studio, Boiling Point has partnered with local audio experts at OK Sounds Good to provide sound editing services to filmmakers.
“Providing filmmakers with a comprehensive solution for post-production just makes sense,” owner of OK Sounds Good Rob Derrick said. “Partnering with the industry leaders at Boiling Point means movies, shows and commercials can get everything they need in one place.”
The Oklahoma City Film & Creative Industries Office combines resources such as links to the state’s film rebate program, which was utilized by Boiling Point Media in the production of “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet 2” in one place for filmmakers and studio executives. The office is administered by film industry veteran Jill Simpson and serves as a resource and promotion hub for those looking to film within the greater Oklahoma City area.
The Lionsgate Films-distributed project, "The Adventures of Jurassic Pet 2: The Lost Secret," is currently streaming on iTunes and Amazon and is available at Target.
