Mesta Park Neighborhood

In the core of Oklahoma City is Mesta Park a flourishing historical neighborhood filled with color, charm and hospitality. The neighborhood was founded in 1902 and offers several samples of early 20th century traditional antiquity.


Mesta Park runs from 16th Street north to 22nd on the south , It's bordered by Western Avenue on the west and Walker Avenue on the east. On 22nd street It stretches down all the way to Robinson.





To be in such a historical setting, Mesta Park is a progressive neighborhood. Their area is recorded on the National Register of Historic Places and is classified by the City of Oklahoma City as a Historic Preservation District.







The neighborhood has a unique set of private security forces run by the Historic Communities Protection Organization, Inc. ('HNSA'). It is a non-profit Oklahoma company that operates a dedicated patrol of off-duty uniformed police officers from Oklahoma City employed by the Board of Directors of the HNSA. Membership is free and is exclusive of the Mesta Park Community Association, Inc. ('MPNA') membership.



The land they now enjoy as their community area, also know as "The Mesta Park" was developed with funds from the 1968 General Obligation Bond Issue by the City of Oklahoma City in July 1974 and was formally named by the City Council in May 1975 as Perle Mesta Park.
