PLAZA DISTRICT

If you’re the sort that likes to check out the hip and happening, you’ll find it in the Plaza District; an enclave of locally-owned shops, neighborhood bars, quirky galleries and fun-and-funky restaurants. Named for the historic Plaza Theater (built in 1935), the area has become a hub for creativity and a magnet for local businesses. Its namesake theater is now the nationally-renowned Lyric on the Plaza Theater, where you can catch live performances in season.

Sample Some of the Best Craft Beer in Oklahoma

Oak & Ore lives up to its slogan of “Craft Beer and Craft Fare” by keeping 36 always-rotating Oklahoma beers on tap. Other popular restaurants in the district with extensive beer selections include The Mule, which offers up crafty grilled cheese sandwiches and beer battered fries, and Empire Slice House, where mind-blowing pizza is served until 2 a.m. Monday-Saturday and midnight on Sunday.

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

It doesn’t get much better than Roxy’s Ice Cream Social, a food truck turned permanent establishment that scoops up the best salted caramel ice cream in existence (in our humble opinion). Roxy’s Ice Cream pairs nicely with the nearby Pie Junkie’s tasty options. Buy pie by the slice or get the whole thing – we won’t judge.
